NC Leaders Form National Group To Counter MoveOn.org
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 22, 2009
WakeUpAmerica.com
(Raleigh, NC) — On Monday, a new national political group based in North Carolina began running an ad criticizing the rampant corruption problem among career NC Democrat politicians.
Within hours, Andrew Whalen, the NC Democrat Party spokesperson, erupted.
Whalen: “Nothing in the ad mentions how they would create jobs, solve the budget crisis that faced North Carolina due to the global recession, or educate our children.” (AP, 9/21/09) This after Democrats inflicted damage on our economy by raising taxes on every breathing North Carolinian, while continuing to waste millions of our tax dollars.
Andrew Brock, a State Senator from Mocksville, responded: “The first step to recovery is for NC Democrats to admit there is a pattern of corruption in their ranks, but clearly they need an intervention,” Brock stated.
Today, Republican State Senator Andrew Brock, State Representative Bryan Holloway and businessman Will Head of Raleigh, formally announce the formation of a new national conservative political group, Wake Up America.com, to “take on MoveOn.org and the radical socialists attacking America.”
One of the groups founders, Andrew Brock, says the group’s mission is to “spread the truth to a population who is shockingly unaware of the liberal onslaught against our state and federal Constitutions.”
Wake Up America.com this week began airing the first in a series of TV commercials in the state on WRAL and Fox News, in order to “start getting the word out that there needs to be public accountability for the corrupt system the state Democrats preside over,” said Will Head — a Raleigh businessman and co-founder of the group.
“We have North Carolina ads starting this week, and shortly we will be airing a new commercial in South Carolina taking President Obama to task for the way he has misrepresented himself to the American people on tax increases, wasteful earmarks, the cost of government health care and on keeping us safe,” Head continues.
Board member Bryan Holloway commented, “We are most excited about the website as a way to promote our conservative values through social networking and Internet technology. With the truth on our side, I believe a counter to MoveOn.org is exactly what conservatives in America need.”
Wake Up America.com is on the cutting edge of empowering citizens in the political process. Unlike MoveOn.org, Wake Up America.com will use an incentive-based Citizen Fundraising structure to enlist thousands of grassroots fundraisers across America. For too long, only the political consultants who specialize in fundraising have taken a percentage of what is raised as their commission.
“For the first time in political history, Wake Up America.com will give citizens the same income opportunities for fundraising that are usually reserved for consultants, and the result will be an army of thousands of Citizen Fundraisers across this country who will help us air TV ads spreading the truth,” Senator Brock said today.
The Wake Up America.com TV commercial in North Carolina is airing on FOX News Channel in the Raleigh, Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Wilmington markets for an initial period of 2-3 weeks.
The ad notes a newspaper editorial citing how no real cuts were made in the state budget, while the largest tax increase in history was passed during a recession. Columnists such as John Hood have noted that it’s just not reasonable that taking a billion dollars out of the state’s economy isn’t harmful especially as our state suffers from job loss. Democrat leaders have been jailed continually in recent years, with countless FBI investigations and Grand Juries, including ongoing probes into the recent former Democrat Governor Mike Easley.
What are signs of Radical Socialism?
Throughout history radical socialist, fascist and totalitarian states have all suffered from unchecked power leading to a culture of big government corruption. Such is the case in North Carolina, New Jersey, New York and yes, Illinois. It is the opinion of WakeUpAmerica.com that North Carolina takes the dubious top prize.
The Wake Up America.com website contains issue blogging areas for concerned citizens to express their opinions and make themselves heard in our public discussion on corruption, liberalism and other issues — as well as news items, media messages and ways to become an organization team leader.
